1.William Perkin was a British chemist who discovered aniline dyes.He followed his grandfather's footsteps because his grandfather used his cellar as a laboratory and he was known locally as a chemist.
2.Most chemists would have flushed the sludge down the sink,but Perkin did not.He investigated further,changed the components of his experiment which gave a purple solution when mixed with methylated spirit. Perkin wondered if that colour would take in fabrics -and his great invention was born.
